Can I use the FLO TV Personal Television from an Airplane?

Our network is intended to deliver an excellent signal to mobile TVs on the ground, rather than in flight. To receive service, our mobile TVs must be in range of a ground-based transmission tower. Though we have not tested our FLO TV™ Personal Television in flight, we do not recommend it be used in the air, as you’re not likely to receive a signal and its use may violate regulations for use of electronic equipment in flight.

Is Closed Captioning available on the FLO TV™ service?

No. Currently, the FLO TV service does not support closed captioning. New product features will be announced on our website.

Can I connect my FLO TV™ Personal Television to another screen, such as a TV or computer?

No. The FLO TV Personal Television does not have a video output connection. In addition, the size and format of the video is compressed specifically for the FLO TV Personal Television.

How do I get new channels when you announce them? Do I have to download them?

When FLO TV adds additional channels or temporary bonus channels to the FLO TV™ service, those channels will automatically appear on the Program Guide. There won’t be any programming interruption or change in your service. Want to receive email updates on new and temporary channels? Subscribe here.

What is the difference between FLO TV's mobile TV channels and standard TV or cable channels?

Often times, the only difference between mobile TV channels and the channels you receive on your home TV is the programming time. The FLO TV™ service includes a unique variety of live, simulcast, and time-shifted programming that’s scheduled for the mobile lifestyle. That means, you can watch late night at lunch time or primetime in the daytime.

What’s more, some of the channels on the FLO TV service include programming from the network’s larger entertainment family. For example, CBS Mobile includes programming from CBS News, CBS Sports, and CBS College Sports Network. Similarly, NBC includes programming from BRAVO.

In addition, the FLO TV service is currently a national service, which means you won’t see programming from local TV affiliates. Lastly, networks may not have mobile TV distribution rights for certain programs. So while you’ll probably see many of your favorite shows on the FLO TV service, we can’t promise you’ll see them all.
